Headshots Headshots Headshots
The cover might possibly kill all of the photographers. I took twenty nine photos of random people today it was quite exciting. I did not take a flash I simply used natural light.

Kickin' It
So Autumn Sehy gave me this photo assignment the day her section in the paper was due so I took the photo really fast. The first time the lens didn't focus on him so I had to go back and retake the assignment. I feel I did a pretty good job considering the time limit on the assignment.

Education in the Nation
A simple assignment is what I needed. I like this assignment because it made me go back to the basics which is something I needed at the time. I felt that I did really well by capturing different angle as well as different focal lengths.

Self Portrait
Failure. Why is it that I can set up the photo correctly but I can not pose myself. I like how my light was setup I used three lights and cut out my shadow and hung it from the ceiling. My stage was kinda jack but oh well, I going to try again to get my posing to convey what I want.

Stress Effects All
Today I shot an assignment to show stress over homework. Right now this is the best assignment I could have gotten. When I was posing her for the photo illustration I didn't know what to do but Hannah pointed out that I was doing a stressed pose. I think I did well on this assignment because she seems really confused and stressed. So yeah, that's my blog for today.

Bondage
So today Taylor was doing her set up for her self portrait and I kinda took over and messed with all of the settings to make it look like I wanted. And I ended up helping her decide on how she was going to do her self portrait with the tulle around my face. I really like the lighting with the flash giving a rim light effect. So yeah, this is my blog for today.

Fallen
Fall has arrived and I decided this would be the perfect blog for the season. I LOVE macro it is my best friend. I used natural lighting because I wanted the leaves to have a cool look to them showing the colder side of things. So yeah, this is my blog for the day. =]

Morgan Walker
Today we Skyped with Morgan to talk about how taking this class helped her in the photojournalism field. I realized that I'm not the only one who feels that their work is never good enough and she pointed out a good fact that your work can always be better but don't let failure get you down. She explained that photojournalism isn't easy or well paying, but you do what you love for whatever the cost, for that I admire her. She attends college at Western Kentucky where she is pursuing a degree in photojournalism. She has been apart of many internships which she is giving links to Smith and I hope to look more into those and possibly apply for one of those.

f/2.8 1/640 ISO 1600
I finally got to shoot Varsity game. Ha ha. Actually I only got to shoot thanks to Smith. I love this photo because of her smile. It draws your eyes to her face which I love. This makes happy. The colors are beautiful.

Tin of light
The juniors were learning painting with light so I decided I would
try a photo idea Ruth showed me. I really like this photo I feel it
could be improved and instead of painting with I'm going to
use strobes. I want my subjects face to show more. ISO 100 f/8.0 30.0sec

One Team One Goal
I took this photo from the first volleyball game of the year. I really like this because it's different from what I normally shoot at a sporting event. I actually liked the lighting setup in only this photo.

Dying of Heat
Since this summer was entirely way too hot I wanted to convey the weather through my image. Which it worked out perfectly because Ruth poured water on Hannah on the exact moment I was thinking up this idea, so I snapped a shot. ISO 100 f/6.3 1/250 sec

Kitten Galore
My last blog of the year...so I wanted to make it cute. What a better way to make it cute than kittens. I used an off camera flash and a 17-50mm and macro lens in order to blur the background when i wanted to. I used the off camera flash to create depth in the photo cause of the white background.

Semester Project-Fashion
Earrings is what I wanted to focus on in my semester project. Each subject has an earring that will contrast against her skin tone and/or hair color. I chose the theater dressing room because I liked the lights around the mirror and how they give a movie star affect on the back ground. I use an on camera flash to give more of a natural lighting effect. I used a 70-200 lens in order to really blur the background so the lights looked like bright circles.

Inspiration
Me and Taylor were looking for things to take photos of for our blogs. Then I saw Blaire doing her make up in the dressing room in the theater. I thought umm....idea! So I practiced head shots with her, trying different poses to show the earrings more. This one is my favorite because of the lens flare. Blaire is my inspiration for my new idea for my fashion...head shots showing off earrings in black and white. Thank you Blaire =]

Coca-Cola
I decided to tryout the bottle picture for fun. It took me a few tries .....A LOT of tries actually but I'm happy with the outcome so far. I'm going to make it an effort to improve this photo throughout the week because I want a challenge.

President's Photographer
To follow and capture the most influential man in America would be an exciting and memorable experience. Though I would be quite embarrassed when they look back at all the photo's I messed up on and knowing I can not delete them. It would be worth it because I would have the opportunity to capture history everyday and I would most likely come out with at least one decent picture. The job of President's photographer though time consuming, with capturing every movement he makes.

Back in the days of photography
Since the light stands were being used by others I decided to play around with reflection.I have decided to incorporate reflection into my bottle photo. It was fairly simple to capture this I realized that angle and lighting have a lot to do with this type of photo.

Toes of Elegance
Today Heather brought her toe shoes and I decided that since semester projects were coming up that I'd try different types of lighting. I turned on my flash and camera then on my test shot I captured the silver chair, with this type of lighting I decided to experiment with the chair and how it reflected the light so well. I was quite impressed with how the first photo turned out. The second photo I when the spotlights in the theatre were turned on Heather had on her toe shoes I had her stand on her toes so that I could capture the reflection of the spotlight on the stage.

Golfing
I had a photo assignment to capture Cole playing golf. I did have him posing for this photo. It was fairly easy to capture him swinging the golf club. I wanted the background moderately in focus.

Sorry
f/ 2.8
1/100
ISO 400
I took these a while ago, but I was very happy with the finished product. It as fairly simple for the first photo, just getting the lens to blur the petals in the background made it difficult. I like the angle for the "sorry" photo. I used the same settings as the first photo. The aged effect is what I like most about the pictures it makes the red from the rose really stand out compared the tan from the concrete.

Glass on the wall
I took this photo in the theatre. I wanted to experiment with the macro lens. I was trying to have just a row of glass tile in focus. My inspiration came from Jacee's cross in the Bible photo. It was fairly easy with the help of auto focus and natural lighting. My settings were ISO 200 aperture 4.0 shutter speed 250

light in darkness
We were in the theatre playing with strobes when I decided to take this photo. I glanced over to the seats then fell in love with the look. It was quite hard to get the camera to focus on the light. I'm going to retake this photo in order to let more light buy holding the shutter open longer.
